The founder of CADEC Limited is Alex Mckillop-Burton, who graduated as a mechanical engineer from Leicester’s De Montfort University in 1996.
As a graduate joining the automotive industry’s supplier chain, he designed chassis/suspension systems and components for numerous prestigious car manufacturers. In progressing to lead design engineer he mastered the industry’s design, development and production processes, and became experienced in the commercial areas, finite element analysis (FEA), tooling/manufacturing, purchasing, and new product introduction (NPI).
Taking ideas from a clean sheet through to production; scheduling workloads to meet project deadlines; ensuring late changes are captured in prototype development, and managing onsite problems and decision-making issues are now routine business for this experienced design engineer.
Now a contractor himself, Alex Mckillop-Burton set up his own consultancy in 2006, trading initially as Aburtech Design Limited before re-branding as CADEC Ltd. Early automotive industry projects included working on McClaren’s E-KERS system, a regenerative braking device, for the 2009 Formula One season.
Today, his Ripon-based consultancy focuses on product designs, project development, leadership/management and production. Its CAD-based design service, based on a proven engineering skill set, will benefit anyone in any industry or market sector with an idea for a product but no knowledge of how to develop it.
CADEC Ltd is a design engineering consultancy with an intuitive and proactive approach to problem solving. Its creative technical solutions have won commissions from a diverse client/sector base, and its project support and management skills have forged ongoing relationships with companies at home and abroad.
Behind the success of CADEC Ltd, Yorkshire’s friendly and reputable engineering consultancy, is the founder’s history in providing a high quality, affordable service.
